Remove images, posts or other content
There are two main ways to remove abusive content.
Report to social media service or platform it was posted on
The quickest way to get abusive content taken down is to report it to the service or platform where it was posted.
Most services have clear rules, terms of use and processes for reports. Safety agents or moderators can review and act.
Popular services include links to online safety info and direct reporting forms. After you report, the service may remove the content immediately and can block the poster or delete their account.
Report it to Police
We provide reporting options if you need assistance removing the content or advice about next steps. Our three main areas:
- cyberbullying
- image-based abuse
- child sexual abuse material
Collect evidence
If you plan to report to the service or police, collect evidence first. Take screenshots/URLs and make a note of dates, times and usernames.
